Surface tension and viscosity of Zr-Ti-Cu liquid alloys

Surface tension and viscosity are two main process parameters in the metallurgical industry, especially for high-temperature alloys, such as Zr-Ti-Cu which exhibits excellent characteristics of high strength and high corrosion resistance. However, the surface tension and viscosity of Zr-Ti-Cu alloys are rarely studied. In this work, the surface tension of Zr-Ti-Cu alloy was measured by the pendant drop method. The surface tension and viscosity Zr-Ti-Cu alloy were calculated by our revised modified Guggenheim model and the new CALPHAD-type equation of viscosity proposed in our previous work respectively. The surface tension and viscosity database of the Zr-Ti-Cu system were constructed.
