Endocrine practice(2023)
Abstract
Mucoepidermoid carcinomas are the most common malignant tumors of salivary glands. Primary mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) of the thyroid is a rare entity with only 48 cases reported to date. MEC of thyroid is generally considered a low-grade indolent tumor but poor prognosis has been reported in 9 cases. Here, we report a patient with this uncommon malignancy and review the literature regarding the optimal management of this tumor.
