Petrogenesis of Early Cretaceous andesites and mafic dikes in central Tibet: Implications for the growth of continental crust in collision zones

•The Jiaqiong andesites and mafic dikes were formed at ca. 115 Ma.•The andesites were derived by partial melting of modified lithospheric mantle.•The mafic dikes were produced by asthenosphere–lithospheric-mantle interaction.•Post-collisional magmatism contributed to vertical growth of continental crust.
