Model-Free Fault-Tolerant Control for Formation Flying with Derivative Couplings

This paper addresses the robust adaptive fault-tolerant control (FTC) problem for formation flying systems with actuator faults and unknown dynamics. Since it is challenging to determine the precise dynamics for the formation flying multi-agent systems in the presence of unknown actuator defects and disturbances, a data-based policy algorithm using real system data instead of the system model is developed. By leveraging the spectral decomposition approach, the solution of spacecraft flying control with coupled communication links is obtained. We demonstrate that the formation flying system is asymptotically stable and all signals in the closed-loop systems are bounded. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed model-free fault-tolerant controller is confirmed by the simulation results.
