摘要
Okra pod yield and quality are greatly reduced by Yellow Vein Mosaic Disease (YVMD). Therefore, it is of utmost importance to develop resistant genotypes and evaluate them for important economic traits. In present study, a total of 168 BC 1 F 2:3 progenies of a cross [Punjab Padmini and A . manihot (PAUAcc-1)] were subjected to field evaluation in augmented block design exhibiting eight blocks and five checks. The results revealed that there was significant difference among progenies for all the traits except for fruit length (cm). Eighty lines exhibited disease incidence ranging from 11.11 to 66.67 per cent, while 57 lines were totally free from YVMD infection. A total of 74 progenies recorded marketable yield in the range of 112.5 to 189.6 g/plant that were significantly superior to standard check Punjab Suhawani (111.9 g/plant). Progeny PAUMIOL-56 was at top for yield (189.62 g/plant) and showed no YVMD disease incidence up to 90 DAS (days after sowing).
