Simulation and Experiment of G-band Folded Waveguide Traveling-Wave Tube

In this paper, a folded waveguide traveling-wave tube (FWG-TWT) working in the G-band is designed. The simulation result shows that the folded waveguide high-frequency system working voltage 19.54kV and current 40mA; in the frequency range of 214-226GHz, the maximum output power is 16W, and the gain is greater than 26dB. The components of the traveling-wave tube (TWT) are assembled and tested. The test results show that the FWG- TWT reaches a maximum output power of 11 W, and the corresponding gain is 37.36dB at 223GHz when the electron beam flow rate is 49.39%, and the 3dB bandwidth is about 3.6GHz. The hot test results are analyzed.
