Abstract
We have been developing a theoretical and computational method for the interaction of intense ultrashort optical pulses with solids based on the ab initio time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). Coupling Maxwell equations with ab initio electronic motion described by TDDFT, nonlinear light propagation of extreme pulsed light can be described. The method has been implemented in an open-source software SALMON, developed by the authors' group [1].
