摘要
Attosecond technology has provided a unique tool to investigate ultrafast phenomena on their native time scales. The creation of excitonic states, the passage through a conical intersection, or the excitation of charge carriers in a solid have been studied with pump-probe spectroscopy using ultrashort laser pulses in the extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) energy range [1]. However, the correct interpretation of the observed dynamics can only stem from a reliable temporal characterization of these ultrashort light pulses, still constituting a challenging task.
