Preparation and Properties of CaY2HfAl4O12:Ce3+ Phosphor Packed with High Power LED

White light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were widely used in many fields because of their desirable characteristics, such as high brightness, high energy efficiency, low energy consumption and fast response time, phosphors have attracted much attention as their important components. In this paper, CaY 2 HfAl 4 O 12 :Ce 3+ green phosphors were prepared by the traditional high-temperature solid-state method. The phase, morphology and properties of the samples were determined by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence spectrophotometer. The luminescence properties were characterized and the results showed that when the Ce 3+ doping amount was 2%, the excitation and emission peaks of the phosphors had higher intensity. Then, we mixed the prepared CaY 2 HfAl 4 O 12 :2%Ce 3+ green phosphor with commercial CaAlSiN3:Eu 2+ red phosphor, which has higher color rendering index CRI (Ra=92.2) and lower related color temperature (CCT=4691K) under the excitation of 450 nm blue GaN-based LED chip. Based on the excellent luminescence characteristics of CaY 2 HfAl 4 O 12 :2%Ce 3+ phosphor, the phosphor is a high-performance green phosphor suitable for white LEDs, which is conducive to promoting the development of high color rendering LEDs.
