Optimal Design of Planar Inductor in Forward Converter

In order to improve the power density and reduce the volume of switching power supply, the planarization of magnetic components is one of the focuses of research. This paper will take the two-transistor forward converter as the research object, analyze the working principle of the filter inductor in the forward converter, establish the 3D finite element model of the inductor, and combines the numerical calculation method to propose an optimized design process based on the coupling characteristics of multi-physical fields. Finally, an example is designed to verify the feasibility of the design process.
