3D Rotation Scan of Rat Retinal Vessels Using 30MHz Ultrahigh Frequency Ultrafast Doppler

摘要
The retinal vasculature is associated with various diseases such as hypertensive retinopathy, diabetic retinopathy (DR), and cerebrovascular diseases (CeVD). The structural and hemodynamic information of retinal vessels can be utilized for disease diagnosis and prevention. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is the most commonly employed method for retinal imaging. However, it falls short when confronted with clinical conditions causing reduced ocular translucency, such as vitreous opacity. In such cases, ultrasound remains the sole viable option for imaging retinal vasculature in clinical contexts. This study employs a 30MHz ultrahigh-frequency ultrafast Doppler system for three-dimensional rotational scanning of rat retinal vessels, aiming to investigate the performance and potential enhancements for assessing retinal vascular pathologies.
