摘要
Ultrasound imaging plays an important role in non-invasive medical diagnosis by providing visualization of internal structures. Recent advances in ultrafast acquisition methods have paved the way for innovative applications, such as live Doppler imaging, 3D volume visualization, or Ultrasound Localization Microscopy. To achieve real-time visualization of these techniques, it is critical to optimize and integrate them into a unified toolbox. While several ultrasound imaging packages have been developed, such as MUST or USTB, most are implemented in Matlab or C++ and offer either advanced imaging methods or GPU support, but not both. In this work, we propose the ultraspy toolbox, which includes advanced beamforming algorithms, pre-and post-processing methods, Doppler techniques, and metrics for image evaluation. This toolbox is designed to work on both 2D and 3D mediums, with either Radio-Frequency (RF) or In-phase Quadrature (I/Q) signals, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of ultrasound systems, probes, and acquisition sequences. Most of the library is implemented on both CPU and GPU and has been validated in real-time on a TPAC research ultrasound system. The library can be downloaded and its documentation is freely available at https://ultraspy.readthedocs.io. Some tutorials are also included for ease of use, as well as a Contribute section that explains step-by-step how to integrate your own research into the library for anyone willing to help integrate new features.
