A Review of Research on New Energy Sending Subsynchronous Oscillation through LCC-HVDC

Due to the introduction of large-scale power electronic components, the subsynchronous oscillation(SSO) of the new energy unit and high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC) is not exactly the same as the SSO caused by the interaction between the traditional synchronous motor and the AC grid. The article first introduces the SSO analysis method for new energy units, and then summarizes the respective oscillation mechanisms of direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (DPMSG), doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), photovoltaic power generation, and the mechanism of SSO caused by the joint action of new energy units and LCC-HVDC. Aiming at the cause of the oscillation, the method of suppressing SSO is summarized. Finally, a new research idea in the study of SSO in this scenario is proposed.
