Post-evaluation Method for Grid Operation Efficiency Based on Whole Life Cycle Considering Flexible Resource and Energy Storage

Power companies usually focus on initial investment when construction and upgrading their grid, while ignore annual operation cost and retirement cost of power equipment in the grid, which will lead to an incomplete evaluation of grid operation efficiency in view of whole life cycle of power equipment. This paper considers the cost and revenue of power equipment including flexible resource and energy storage based on whole life cycle, and establishes a post-evaluation index system, where the cost reflects the economics of initial investment, annual operation cost and retirement cost, while revenue reflects the economics of power company revenue, social and environmental revenue and power user revenue. Then, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method is applied to comprehensively evaluate the indexes, which can be used to optimize construction and upgrading of power grid, and hence can improve grid operation efficiency. Finally, the proposed method is validated by case studies from IEEE 33 bus system.
