Design and implementation of a smart site supervision system based on Internet of Things

With the advancement of urbanization in China, various problems on construction sites are increasingly prominent. How to strengthen management and eliminate various illegal operations is still an important research topic. This article studies three scenarios: on-site environment, tower crane, and maintenance room from the perspectives of green, safety, and quality. Firstly, monitoring equipment, control equipment, and intelligent IoT gateway are designed based on STM32F407VE. Secondly, a transmission network combining RS485 wired, LoRa, WIFI, and 4G wireless communication is designed, and the Modbus and MQTT protocols are converted. Then, a comprehensive supervision system is designed using a B/S architecture, which realized uploading the site video data, environmental data, tower crane operation, maintenance room temperature and humidity data to the platform, while saving the collected data to MySQL database to complete the data calling and analysis. Finally, the comprehensive supervision platform will conduct alarm linkage and other processing. Through testing, it is verified that the system designed in this paper can supervise the construction site in time and improve the efficiency of site management.
