Abstract
Synchronous reluctance machines (SynRMs) are widely used in fan and water pump system, due to the high efficiency and low cost. However, low power factor is a major disadvantage which limits the application of SynRMs. To improve the power factor of SynRMs, permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine (PMa-SynRM) attracted more and more attention. For the PMa-SynRMs, the magnetic characteristics of PMs significantly affect the machine performance. This paper does not study how to change the permanent magnet (PM) magnetic characteristics, but study the influence of PM magnetic characteristics on the performance of the machine and the results can be used to guide the processing of permanent magnetic materials.
