Abstract
Spin-torque diodes based on magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) are devices with a wide range of potential industrial and technological applications. The nanoscale size of MTJs allows to efficiently exploit phenomena such as voltage controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) to manipulate the ferromagnetic state and excite resonant modes in the device. In this work, we predict a fractional parametric resonant response in passive spintronic diode excited simultaneously by spin-transfer torque and VCMA by means of micromagnetic simulations. This resonance mechanism can be used for frequency divider and compact demodulation schemes.
