Abstract
Delivering the product to the consumer will depend heavily on testing, validation, and verification. Customers may reject a product outright if it has flaws, fails to meet standards, or is otherwise unsatisfactory. Before installing the ECU with embedded software in a real car, automation testing is the best technique to test it. A hardware-in-loop (HiL) setup is an envirounment where testing of the ECU is carried out in a lab, with the use of vector tools like vector CANOe and vTest studio, This study focuses on testing of the ECU for over current and over temperature situations in order to check the position of the control unit switch to activate the safe features of ECU for the automotive safety integrity level loads (ASIL) to protect the car passengers.
