Toward the Development of A Three-dimensional Stable SBP-SAT FDTD Method

A three-dimensional summation-by-parts simultaneous approximation term (SBP-SAT) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with the provable stability is proposed. The modified grids and several fundamental theoretical aspects of the proposed SBP-SAT FDTD method is investigated. Then, the specific absorption rate (SAR) of a human head is carried out to validate its accuracy and efficiency. Results show that the proposed SBP-SAT FDTD method has the same level of accuracy compared with the FDTD method with only a negligible overhead.
