Abstract
Since accurate radar sea clutter simulation is an important part for target detection performance, this paper introduces a novel method based on full link factors for airborne radar system. Due to the complex characteristics of sea clutter and motion of aircraft, target detection under sea clutter faces the impact of doppler and range ambiguity. Besides, the existing methods do not consider full link conditions and detecting scenarios, which leads to phenomenon of sea clutter characteristics vary with the radar parameters. Therefore, this paper focused on analyzing the geometric relationships of airborne radar and aimed range bins. Then, the coherent sea clutter model is established, while the echo power formula of backscattering model is also calculated. Finally, through analysis the relationship between K distribution sea clutter echoes and Two-Scale Composite (TSC) sea clutter backscatter model, the sea clutter datasets are simulated based on full link factors above. And the results show that the simulated sea clutter datasets are within realistic time-frequency characteristics and improve target detection performance under multiple sea states sea clutter.
