Abstract
This paper describes an experimental approach for breathing detection based on FMCW radar for indoors applications. The study involved an in-house developed 2.4 GHz FMCW radar system using an AM envelop technique and related algorithms for signal processing. To evaluate breathing rate, datasets were obtained considering a fixed subject (sitting person). The experimental results exhibit a good agreement for detecting breathing cycle of human being with a distance up to 2 meters which demonstrate that bioradar is able to detect life-sign.
