Simulation Experiment of Stripmap SAR Imaging Using Planar Near Field Measurement System

At present, the experiments for strip SAR imaging mainly use airborne or spaceborne platforms, and there are few relevant literatures on experimental measurements in microwave anechoic chambers. This paper presents an experimental method for simulating strip SAR imaging using a planar near-field measurement system in an anechoic chamber. By controlling the antenna to simulate the motion pattern of SAR imaging, measurements are made at different locations and echo data is collected. Compared with the general experimental scheme, the scheme proposed in this paper does not require continuous motion of the radar platform, which will reduce the complexity of the measurement system.
