A C-Band Microwave and Optical Integrated Antenna Array

The design, fabrication and measurement of an integrated antenna array which combines C-band microwave antennas and optical antennas are introduced. The proposed antenna array consists of strip-line Vivaldi antennas, a common metal frame which acts as ground plate for Vivaldi antennas, and an optical antenna. The prototype array exhibits a measured $\text{VSWR} < 2.5$ and good radiation pattern from 5.0GHz to 6.0GHz, showing well agreement with simulations. In addition, a good imaging capability of the integrated antenna array is presented in the imaging test.
