Study on Scattering Characteristics of Plasma-Coated 2D Cylinder in Terahertz Band by Wave Equation-Based DGTD Method

Terahertz (THz) waves have better penetration ability than microwaves, and thus have always been considered as an effective way to solve the black barrier problem. In this work, a wave equation-based discontinuous Galerkin time-domain (DGTD-WE) method is developed to simulate the scattering characteristics of a plasma-coated 2D Cylinder in the THz band. The auxiliary differential equation (ADE) technique is used to describe the dispersion properties of plasma to construct the system governing equation. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the DGTD-WE method. Moreover, the effects of plasma frequency, collision frequency, and plasma thickness on the scattering characteristics are discussed.
