An Ultra-Wideband Dual-Polarized Sinuous Antenna

A sinuous antenna with ultra-wideband and dual-linear polarization is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of four radiation arms, two microstrip tapered baluns and an absorptive cavity. Four radiation arms are used to achieve wideband radiation characteristic. Feeding sections are realized by using microstrip tapered balun. To achieve the unidirectional radiation, the antenna is backed by a absorptive cavity. The simulated results show that the proposed antenna has a ultra-wideband from 1GHz to 13GHz for VSWR $\leq$3.0 and a relatively stable radiation characteristic.
