Abstract
A novel dynamically tunable power divider with high isolation is proposed in this paper. This power divider has the capacity to alter continuously the output power by using two graphene flakes and two open-ended microstrip stubs. In particular, the total length of the graphene flake and the open-ended microstrip stub is quarter-wavelength. Based on the traditional Wilkinson power divider, the output ports have been added with a combination of graphene flake and open-ended microstrip stub, respectively. Thus, a two-way dynamically tunable power divider is designed and analyzed, with the operating range from 2.682 to 3.278 GHz. Eventually, the microstrip tunable power divider is designed on a commercial substrate (RT/duroid 5880). The sheet resistance of graphene flake can be changed by different voltages, the simulated Sii is less than −10dB, the attenuation range is better than 3 dB, and the port-to-port isolation is better than 25 dB in the operating frequency. This power divider allows the attenuation of the output ports to be changed independently.
