An innovative derivation for reflection and transmission of electromagnetic field in planar-stratified TI medium

Abstract
A innovative derivation of local and generalized reflection\transmission is presented to describe electromagnetic (EM) field propagation in planar-stratified transverse isotropic (TI) medium. Different with the classical derivation process widely used in geophysical exploration, the concept of generalized transmission coefficient is introduced and emphasized to solve the EM field. The recurrent formulation of field in each layer is respect with the upgoing or downgoing waves rather than the amplitude. The boundary position is introduced to the formulation to overcome the overflow problem in numerical calculation. This work can be widely used in the applications of geophysical exploration
