Abstract
Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) are the crucial devices used in aircraft to record the flight data and cockpit conversations, respectively. These devices also play a critical role during the investigation of aircraft accidents, as they provide valuable information about the causes of the accident. However, locating these devices after an aircraft crash is challenging, especially if the crash site is at remote or inaccessible locations. The existing system such as underwater locator beacon, radio frequency locator beacon, and search and rescue operations have its own limitations which can be solved by the proposed FDR/CVR Location Tracker system. The focus of this work is to present a solution to this challenge by designing a location tracker using GPS, GSM, and vibration sensor technology. The system is interfaced with a PIC16F877A micro controller and a 16x2 LCD display. The device uses a vibration sensor to send an SMS to the selected mobile number with information about the location of the aircraft accident, including its latitude, longitude, and height. Using the latitude and longitude coordinates in apps like Google Maps, it is possible to accurately locate the place with ease where the aircraft accident has occurred.
