Quantitative Evaluation of Vehicle Stability Based on Phase Plane Space

摘要
The analysis of vehicle stability can provide an important theoretical basis for the structural design and stability controller design of the vehicle. The current stability analysis methods lack the quantitative description of vehicle stability, and the evaluation indicators used are few, which makes the evaluation effect is limited when the vehicle is close to the instability boundary. To solve this problem, the vehicle stability is quantitatively described by yaw rate, sideslip angle, front-tire slip angle, and rear-tire slip angle. By constructing stable boundary and critical stable region, and model normalizing, a more consistent and balanced comprehensive evaluation result near the stable boundary is obtained. The validity of the model is verified by testing in a simulation platform.
