摘要
The renewables have been considered as a solution to global warming and climate-related problems worldwide. In this regard, every country is taking multiple initiatives to increase the use of solar photovoltaics (PV) and wind turbines (WTs) to encourage green energy and reduce carbon emissions. This energy transition is happening at a very rapid pace globally and there is no exception India too. The transformations in the energy sector are happening in India, and in terms of renewable power generation, it lists amonthe g top five countries. The recent setting of the target of high ambition, viz., taking total generation capacity via renewables to 450 gigawatts (GW) by year 2030. Even though its total present capacity is 400 GW. This is done so that the nation can broader climate goals. This transition would take the low- carbon energy sources beyond 60 % of India's total generation, which is above the amount agreed during the Paris Agreement. There are several objectives that are fulfilled by opting and deploying renewable energy sources (RES). These are exponential economic development, increased energy security, rural population's access to energy, and decreasing impact on the climate. This paper presents the story of India's fast growth of renewable energy deployments, with technical and economic challenges in the path of renewables development.
