Enhancing Local Tourism Sustainability through a Digital Local Tourism Management System (DLTMS)

The tourism industry plays a significant role in many countries economies and social development, including in rural and remote areas. However, tourism's rapid growth can also negatively impact the environment, local communities, and cultural heritage. There is a need for innovative and sustainable tourism management approaches to address these challenges. This research explores the potential of a Digital Local Tourism Management System (DLTMS) to support sustainable local tourism development. The DLTMS is a web-based platform that integrates various tools and services for planning, marketing, monitoring, and evaluating local tourism activities. The proposed system is designed to enhance collaboration and communication among stakeholders, such as local authorities, tourism operators, and visitors. The study will adopt a mixed-methods approach, combining a literature review, case study analysis, and stakeholder survey. Therefore, the researcher conducted a questionnaire to know the acceptance of Technology by tourists and entrepreneurs in Chiang Rai Province to understand the factors that make the respondents consider the acceptance of Technology as part of their lives and businesses. Research has led to the development of technological tools in the following order. The research results will provide insights and recommendations for implementing and promoting DLTMS in different contexts and regions. The research will contribute to the knowledge and practice of sustainable tourism management by highlighting the benefits and challenges of using digital tools and platforms for local tourism development
