Application of Artificial Rabbits Optimization Algorithm to the Economic Load Dispatch Problem

Practically, the effects of valve-point loading contribute to the extremely nonlinear input-output characteristics of thermal power plants. The producing units must operate within their operating limits while meeting the load demand in order to permit efficient and reliable power dispatch. This is referred to as an economic load dispatch problem (ELDP). Meta-heuristic algorithms that were inspired by nature are currently found to be effective in fixing these issues. This study implements the Artificial Rabbits Optimization Algorithm (AROA), a bio-inspired optimization algorithm, to solve the ELDP of a three-generating unit system that includes valve-point loading effects. Statistics are also used to study the effects of the AROA parameters on the overall cost of fuel. Additionally, different optimization methods are used to verify AROA's performance.
