Low Voltage Control Configuration Method for Remote Rural Distribution Network Coordinated by Voltage Regulator and Capacitor

With the improvement of industrial electrification and the extensive access to new energy sources, the structure of distribution networks in remote rural areas is becoming more and more complex. Accordingly, low voltage and low power factor problems in distribution networks have become more serious, while the requirement for economical configuration of low voltage control equipment is increasing. However, the existing method is usually to install reactive power compensation capacitor after the series voltage regulator, which does not make full use of the reactive power compensation capacitor. This paper proposes a configuration method coordinated by series voltage regulator and reactive power compensation capacitor based on network admittance matrix to make the reasonable and effective scheme. Finally, a typical rural distribution network is employed to verify the method. The configuration scheme and the results after low voltage control show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.
