Abstract
In radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG) is a power generation device that directly converts the decay heat energy of radioisotopes into electric energy by using Seebeck effect. Due to not being limited by sunlight and other environmental conditions, RTG has the characteristics of long life and high reliability. And it is an ideal power supply for low-power deep space exploration. In this paper, firstly, the principle and characteristics of RTG are analyzed in detail. Secondly, SuperBoost converter suitable for RTG with synchronous rectification technology is analyzed, and the operation principle and characteristics of the circuit are introduced. Then, based on the inherent characteristics of RTG, an improved conductance increment maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is proposed. Finally, the feasibility and efficiency of the whole system are verified by a 100W prototype.
