Unified Model and Performance Analysis of Airborne Radar Reduced-rank STAP Method

Aiming at the problem of dimensionality reduction matrix fixed in reduced-dimension space-time adaptive processing (STAP) method, the dimensionality reduction matrix of the rank reduction STAP method is related to echo data, and adaptive dimensionality reduction processing is realized. This paper firstly presents a unified model of the reduced-rank STAP method from the perspective of the generalized sidelobe cancellation structure. On this basis, it introduces the basic principles of principal component, cross-spectral metric, multi-stage Wiener filter and auxiliary vector filtering method. Also it compares the convergence, space time adaptive pattern and signal-to-clutter-plus-noise ratio loss of different reduced-rank STAP methods with the different or same reduced-rank order, finally it has analyzed and compared the performance of the methods through computer simulation, and given useful conclusions.
