Antenna Design Based on Optically Transparent Material

Different from the traditional antenna, antenna based on optically transparent material can has high transmittance to visible light, breaking the limitations of traditional antenna installation, and has the advantage of flexible, transparent, good concealment and conformal characteristics. Transparent antenna design principle and design method based on transparent material are given in this paper. A directional antenna array with a working frequency band of 2515MHz-2675MHz is designed and measured. Meanwhile, an omni-directional antenna is also designed and measured in real application environment. The comparison with the conventional ceiling antenna is carried out to validate its performance. The measured results show that the transparent antenna can meet the system requirement while it can be candidate for wireless communication.
