A Blocker-Tolerant Receiver With +20dBm IIP3, 13.7MHz-BB-BW and <3.5dB NF for SAW-Less sub-6GHz applications

This paper presents a 0.5-2GHz Blocker-Tolerant receiver(RX) for SAW-Less sub-6GHz wireless applications. A second-order baseband(BB) amplifier is proposed to extend the bandwidth(BW) and enhance the frequency selectivity. By co-design with the bandpass Low Noise Transconductance Amplifiers(LNTA), the RX can maintain a broadband flat gain and low noise figure(NF) characteristics. The proposed Blocker-Tolerant RX is designed in 65nm CMOS process. Post-simulation results show a 13.7MHz-BB-BW with NF less than 3.5 dB. For a blocker signal frequency-offset of 80MHz at 1GHz, the receiver can achieve an OOB IIP3 of 20dBm. The RX under 1.2V supply consumes 38mA to 59mA currents from 0.5-2GHz respectively.
