Abstract
In this paper, a design of liquid crystal leaky wave antenna based on holographic theory for beam control is presented, and a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is used as transmission waveguide. The leakage gap radiation is controlled by the tuning characteristics of liquid crystal, and the beam is controlled by the theory of holographic amplitude weighting. The performance of two designed leaky-wave antennas under different control states is shown in this paper. One achieves dual-beam radiation with a beam direction of 50 ° and a gain of 7.79 dBi. The beam direction is -72 °, and the gain is 3.69dBi. The other achieves a large angle deflection of a single beam, with a radiation direction of 60 ° and a gain of 10.3dBi.
