摘要
Paraffin-based Silica (SiO2) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nano-encapsulated phase change materials (NePCMs) were successfully synthesized via the sol-gel method to enhance the phase change and thermal performance. The prepared NePCMs were characterized using the fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and dynamic light scattering (DLS). The latent heat for the SiO2-NePCM and TiO2-NePCM was found to be 115.0 and 73.47 J/g respectively determined from differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The size of the prepared NePCMs is 264.8 nm and 238.7 nm for the SiO2-NePCM and TiO2- N ePCM respectively. Based on the density and zeta potential results, it is suggested that N ePCMs could be potentially used for the active thermal management of electronics.
