Development of Quasi-Optical Mode Converter based on Metamaterials

摘要
In this paper, the development of quasi-optical mode converter based on metamaterial in University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is presented. The metal-dielectric metasurfaces and all-dielectric metamaterial are introduced into the quasi-optical mode converter (QOC) investigation. Both of them are succeeded to convert waveguide modes to free space Gaussian beam not only in simulations but also in experiments. In experiments, the observed scalar Gaussian mode contents of output wave from QOC based on metal-dielectric metasurfaces are 95.96%, 97.01%, 96.84%, and 97.85% at 35, 36, 37, and 38 GHz, respectively; the observed scalar Gaussian mode content of output wave from QOC based on all-dielectric metasurface is 97.84% at 35 GHz.
