摘要
In filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) system, because of the ramp-up and ramp-down of the waveform at the beginning and the end of each packet, its spectral efficiency can drop significantly in short packets/data bursts. In view of this shortcoming, the existing works proposes to use the head-tail truncation method to improve the spectral efficiency of the system. It is noticed that existing signal compression (SC) methods focus mainly on how to truncate and ignoring how much to truncate. In this paper, we focus on proposing a theoretical selection method for the optimal truncation length. Firstly, power compensation is carried out through equal ratio amplification of useful signal to ensure that the total transmitted power remains unchanged. Secondly, the signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of each subcarrier is calculated, and then the spectral efficiency of the system is taken as the optimization objective so as to determine the optimal truncation length through two-dimensional search. Finally, this paper proposes that the receiver can take advantage of the parallel interference cancellation (PIC) technology to eliminate inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) introduced by signal compression. The simulation results demonstrate that it is necessary to study the selection of head-tail truncation length in short FBMC data transmission. Moreover, the proposed scheme can significantly improve system performance from the perspective of spectral efficiency and symbol error rate (SER).
