High-Frequency Models of Inductive Sensors for Recording Partial Discharges in Electrical-Equipment Insulation

Replacement schemes of inductive-type partial-discharge (PD) sensors are considered and relations are given for calculating their parameters at a given frequency based on the results of measurements of the frequency characteristics of sensors. Calculation of transients using such models has an acceptable accuracy only at one predetermined frequency of the transient process. A method is proposed for strictly taking into account the frequency dependences of the parameters of PD sensors, which is carried out using the technique of vector approximation of frequency characteristics and modeling the sensor by systems of equations of state solved along with the differential equations for the rest of the circuit. This approach is implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
