Simulation analysis of terahertz photoconductive antennas with different electrodes

Aiming at the problem of low radiation power of terahertz photoconductive antenna, three different geometric electrodes are proposed in this paper. The photoconductive antenna with different electrodes is simulated in full-wave based on the finite element method, and the electric field, potential and transient photocurrent of terahertz radiation is obtained. The simulation results show that the peak value of the transient photocurrent of the interdigital electrode is the largest, which is much larger than that of the linear electrode photoconductive antenna because the interdigital electrode greatly enhances the ability to collect carriers. The detailed simulation process in this work provides a certain reference value for researchers to study photoconductive antennas.
