Abstract
In this work, an integrated monitoring system was tested on a cantilever rectangular thin plate (CRTP) made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, which used two industrial cameras and some fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors pasted on the CRTP. Finite element simulations of the CRTP were also performed; moreover, a series of monitoring experiments were conducted, consisting of FBG sensing tests and dual-camera photography of the CRTP under different loads. The deflection and strain curves of the CRTP based on FBG sensors and photogrammetry were obtained and compared. Then, the deflection and bending strain of the CRTP based on photogrammetry were integrated with the acquired data from the simulations and FBG sensors. It was found that the bending strains of the CRTP measured by the FBG sensors can be used to estimate the photogrammetry-derived bending strains in the range of all marked surfaces.
