Major cardiovascular adverse events in older adults with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer treated with adjuvant taxane + anthracycline versus taxane-based chemotherapy regimens: A SEER-medicare study

•Older patients with TNBC are at higher risk for anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity.•Receipt of ATAX did not increase risk of cardiac outcomes or affect survival.•Age may serve as a predictor for poorer survival once a cardiac event occurs.•Trials evaluating non-anthracycline regimens in TNBC should include age > 65.
