摘要
Biological nanonetworks (BNs) offer a unique communication paradigm in environments where biocompatibility, low complexity and energy availability are primary concerns. However, they suffer from low bit rate, high propagation delay, high bit error rate and lack of directionality. In this work, Bio-Electric Nanonetworks, a new class of BN is introduced, that is based on living wires made primarily of Cable Bacteria. As information is transmitted in the form of electrical signals, the aforementioned transmission characteristics of this new class of BN are expected to be far better than that of traditional BN, close to the ones of electronic networks.
