IQ Imbalance Quadrature Demodulation Correction Using Deduced Dimension Matrix

Wideband RF chips can meet the demand of flexible bandwidth configuration and achieve high-rate transmission. However, these functions require greater breakthroughs in the research and development of chips. To achieve high bandwidth and high order modulation, it is necessary to minimize the impact of the mirrored signal caused by the I/Q imbalance in RF transceiver. In this paper, to achieve higher image rejection ratio, we improve the previous wideband I/Q imbalance model, optimizes the I/Q imbalance at the receiver, and bring in the phase and amplitude differences of the local oscillator signal of the transmitter and receiver respectively. At the receiver, the improved QDC blind correction method is used to eliminate the mirrored signal generated by I/Q imbalance. Through the analysis, we find matrix in I/Q blind correction algorithm is redundant. We can eliminate this redundancy by taking a simple method, which can reduce the complexity, enhance the operational stability, and ensure the implementation effect of the algorithm.
