DC Transformation Scheme for Low-Voltage Management in AC Distribution Network

The incompatibility between the construction of distribution network and the level of load development is the prime cause for the low-voltage problem at user side. The low-voltage problem at the end of AC distribution network will affect the normal power consumption. Traditional low-voltage managements are not efficient. Therefore, this paper proposes a DC transformation scheme based on flexible DC technology. Through a set of back-to-back AC/DC converters connected in series to AC transmission line, voltage control at user side is realized. The proposed scheme has the advantages of short reconstruction cycle, high cost-effectiveness. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by an engineering application.
