Abstract
A patient with chronic submandibular sialolithiasis underwent conservative treatment with appropriate imaging and multiple biopsies that continually revealed chronic inflammation. Due to continued symptoms, the patient underwent eventual excision and finaly pathology revealed salivary mucinous adenocarcinoma, which is a rare and poorly understood salivary malignancy. Persistent diagnostic workup and a high suspicion for salivary gland lesions is important for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. More attention and research on this specific entity can help future clinicians better diagnose and treat patients with a similar presentation.
