A Digital Therapeutics System for the Diagnosis and Management of Depression: Work in Progress.

Depression is a widespread and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, think and act [1]. It impacts around 5% of the global adult population [2, 3] and is the most common psychiatric disorder that is present in people that die by suicide [4]. Digital therapeutics are a promising new type of therapy that combines patient centric technologies with evidence-based medicine to deliver highly personalized care through programs to prevent, manage, or treat medical conditions [5]. This research aims to briefly review various past and current attempts at digital therapeutics, and share a work in progress that attempts to combine the strengths and negate the weaknesses of previous works with a focus on multimodal artificial intelligence powered digital therapeutics as a system for diagnosing and managing depression.
